Joseph Tomane (born 11 February 1990) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer for the Gold Coast Titans of the National Rugby League competition. He plays as a utility back.
In Brisbane Tomane attended Marsden State High School alongside Israel Folau, Antonio Winterstein and Chris Sandow until his senior year[1] when he moved to Nudgee College in where he played rugby union, making the Australian Schoolboys side. Tomane played alongside James O'Connor at Nudgee and Australian Schoolboy level.
In only his 9th NRL game on the 7th of June 2009, playing against the Brisbane Broncos, Tomane scored 3 Tries and took on the goalkicking duties for the night to achieve 6 goals from 9 attempts, to bring his total points tally for the night to 24, half the Melbourne Storm's 48 total points for night to Brisbane Broncos' 4 points.
Tomane signed with the Gold Coast Titans on a 2 year deal starting from 2010. He is regarded as one of the best young guns in the NRL.With 6 tries in 10 appearance playing for the Gold Coast Titans in 2010.
He was selected in the Samoan train on squad in 2010 [2]
It was announced on 27 June 2011 that Tomane was returning to rugby union as he had signed a two year deal with Australian Super Rugby side the Brumbies.[3]
